Year 7 students Rebecca Simpson and Rachel O'Brien won the final of their section at the "Have Your Say" competition run by the Association of Language Learning (Essex and East Anglia Branch).

It was the 25th anniversay of this spoken French, German and Spanish Compeititon which attracts competitors from both private and state schools in the area.  Standards, as ever, were very high at the finals so it is a great credit to the girls to have won the shield!

Mrs. Bower, subject leader Spanish and Mrs. Barahona-Gomariz, Spanish teacher accompanied the students and were extremely proud of all their sudents who took part in the competition commenting on the enthusiasm and commitment shown by them.  Overall ten of our students had qualified for the final in both French and Spanish.

Language learning is increasing in its importance nationwide and competitions such as this can only be applauded in the encouragement they foster in students to communicate in a foreign tongue.
